Step One: Disassembly
Seriously...it's easier than you think... Despite what we have traditionally seen on the internet, disassembling the Wiimote is shockingly simple. Now at first glance it appears to be a Herculeaen task. The first hurdle is the screw. The simple screw is one of our most brilliant inventions. It is straightforward, effective, and there is no reason to create any roadblocks to unfastening a screw other than putting one in a place where the average noogoodnik is unlikely to have a screwdriver. At closer inspection however, the tiny screws on the Wii controller are not Xs, not Is, but strange little Ys. Now, it is impossible to know exactly why or how Nintendo decided to put screws that they found in the Mountains of Madness into their device, but there is always a way past a screw. Observe figure one.
Thats right. There's no household electronic device that can't be opened up safely and effectively with one stern twist of the common workaday crowbar. Once you've gone ahead and completed that step, move on to the next step, which is looking at the ridiculous mess of useless stuff that is actually inside the remote. I'm sure that we'll find some really interesting things in there that we could never have seen otherwise, opening up new opportunities and giving credence to myriad new elans in discovery.
On to Step Two.
