The Great Sacramento Valley Windstorm of 2008

I don't know if you all heard but the Sacramento valley is right now experiencing something previously totally unexperienced: oppression. I'll preface this by saying that, Strangely enough, Northern California is a place where the wind generally doesn't blow since I guess the wind is only strong enough to blow smog from San Francisco to a spot right above my head, but not strong enough to move the papers around on my patio table, and the only oppression Californians want to deal with is the oppression we demand. So today, something like a million people lost power, including myself. There were numerous car accidents, power poles going down, and a big rig even flipped over on the freeway about a mile from where I work.
It was only a matter of minutes until George Bush swooped in on his Diebold jetpack and took action and started ruling over everybody with an iron fist, namely, the iron fist of the Sacramento Sheriff department. Just take a look at the image below, which has been supersized and illustrated Madden style.

Its horrible. Don't they think I can navigate around a live spitting electrical cable like an adult? It's only a matter of time until the black helicopters show up. I took that photo using an old Sony Cybershot that my friend LG gave me; I keep it in my car because it is quick to ready in case I need to take photos of any unneccessary GWB police state exercises. The screen was smashed while he was on business in Israel, probably by a soldier, so while it takes pictures just dandylike, I often get body parts in the frame. Some people may think it's sloppy. I like to call it raw journalism.
Either way, the storm hit home as well. As I returned to my house I found what was possibly the perfect illustration of the damage that the storm has done to my fair city...and the perfect illustration of how lousy my neighborhood is. Also supersized for your viewing and informational pleasure.

It was later discovered that the drain was my own.
